Man Injured in Sinamalé Bridge Collision

A 30-year-old Maldivian man was injured in a motorcycle collision on the Hulhumalé-to-Malé lane of the Sinamalé Bridge early Thursday morning.

Police said the accident was reported at around 2:21am after an oncoming motorcycle struck a vehicle that had been parked on the side of the bridge due to heavy rain.

The authority further said that the rider of the moving motorcycle sustained injuries and was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment, where IGMH confirmed he suffered a laceration to his shin.

Police are investigating the collision.
