Muizzu’s remarks came in response to a tweet by Ali Rameez, who voiced his dissatisfaction with the perceived discrimination between car and motorcycle parking.
Ali Rameez, frustrated with the lack of adequate parking space for motorcycles, highlighted that he pays a regular annual fee for using his motorcycle. Despite his payment, he lamented the insufficient motorcycle parking options available in the city.
Mayor Muizzu echoed Rameez’s concerns, emphasizing that the government’s hindrance in constructing parking buildings has exacerbated the city’s parking crisis. He expressed disappointment over the bureaucratic obstacles faced in implementing necessary infrastructure projects.
The mayor acknowledged the importance of addressing the issue promptly and stated his commitment to finding viable solutions.
