MET Office Issues Orange Alert from Fuvahmulah City to Addu City

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued an orange alert for the region spanning from Fuvahmulah City to Addu City.

This alert is in effect from 15:00 hours to 19:00 hours, today. The forecast warns of strong winds of 34 – 40 mph and gusts of 60 mph with very rough seas expected.

Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised by the MMS to remain vigilant and implement appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

• White alert: Alert Level 1
• Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
• Orange warning: Alert Level 3
• Red warning: Alert Level 4
