MET Office Issues White Alert from Gaafu Dhaalu to Addu City

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a White Alert for the region spanning from Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll to Addu City. 

This alert is in effect from 11:00 hours to 17:00 hours, today. The forecast warns of strong winds between 19-24 mph with gusts of wind at 40mph and rough seas within the expected area.

The MMS recommends that individuals residing in or visiting the affected regions remain alert and take appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

• White alert: Alert Level 1
• Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
• Orange warning: Alert Level 3
• Red warning: Alert Level 4
