MET Office Issues White Alert from Haa Alifu Atoll to Faafu Atoll

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a white alert for the region spanning from Haa Alifu Atoll to Faafu Atoll.

This alert is in effect from 13:15 hours to 19:00 hours today. The forecast warns of strong winds with 19-24 mph with rough seas.

Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised by the MMS to remain vigilant and implement appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

  • White alert: Alert Level 1
  • Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
  • Orange warning: Alert Level 3
  • Red warning: Alert Level 4
