MET Office Issues White Alert from Shaviyani to Meemu Atoll

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a white alert for the region spanning from Shaviyani to Meemu Atoll.

This alert is in effect from 11:00 hours to 17:00 hours, today. The forecast warns strong winds of 19-24 mph with rough seas expected.

Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised by the MMS to remain vigilant and implement appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

• Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
• Orange warning: Alert Level 3
