The Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments has started the distribution of 50 tons of dates, donated to the Maldives by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.

In the Greater Malé area, the distribution is taking place at the Islamic Centre hall under the supervision of the ministry. In Malé, dates will be distributed daily from today until May 14, between 09:30 AM and 1:00 PM.

For households in Malé, Hulhumalé, and Vilimalé, the dates will be issued upon verification of the household address, electricity meter number, and the National Identity Card of the person collecting the allocation.

In other cities and islands, distribution will be carried out through the respective city and island councils. Each household will receive one packet of dates, subject to available stock. Allocations have been set at a rate of 50 packets for every 100 households in each area.

The ministry said the initiative reflects continued support and solidarity extended to the people of the Maldives.
