The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has announced that individuals may now request appointments to receive new land agreements for residential plots in Gulhifalhu.

The change follows a revision of the Gulhifalhu land use plan, which necessitated relocating previously allocated plots.

As a result of the revision, a fresh draw was conducted on 31 May to determine the new locations of plots under the Binveriyaa Scheme, rendering previous allocations invalid. The ministry has cancelled earlier agreements and reallocated plots in accordance with the revised plan.

Officials have confirmed that new land registries and agreements are ready for issue to the eligible recipients of Gulhifalhu plots. Appointments can be scheduled via the Hiyaavahi Portal starting from 1 July, with the distribution of the new documents set to begin on 7 July from 9:30am.

The ministry has stated that appointments will be cancelled if individuals fail to attend within five minutes of the scheduled time or do not present the required documentation. Details of the necessary documents will be published in the Government Gazette.

Applicants will be notified of their appointment’s date, time and location through the Hiyaavahi Portal and by SMS.

The ministry highlighted that the original Gulhifalhu land use plan, prepared under the previous administration, did not allocate sufficient space for essential services, and included plots located in areas yet to be reclaimed. The plan has now been revised three times to address these issues.
