Ministry Reopens Nominations for National Youth Award

The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Art has reopened nominations for the National Youth Award, recognising outstanding contributions by young men and women across 17 categories.
These categories include:
- Business and Economy
- Arts and Culture
- Anti-Drug Work
- Volunteerism
- Vocational Training
- Mental Health Promotion
- Environmental Protection
- Fisheries
- Agriculture
- Gender Equality
- Empowering Persons with Disabilities
- Youth Empowerment
- Physical Fitness and Wellbeing
- Promoting Dhivehi Language
- Sports
- Information Technology
Additionally, the Shaheed Javad Umar Recognition Award will honour individuals for exceptional humanitarian service in response to natural disasters, according to the ministry.
The awards ceremony, originally scheduled for 12th August, was postponed by the ministry. Interested parties are invited to resubmit nominations by 2:00 pm on 19th September.
Applications can be submitted via Google Form or by completing a form available on the ministry’s website. Forms can be delivered in person to the ministry between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm on working days, or sent via email to info@youth.gov.mv.
