The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority has published the names of 48 companies that have failed to file their tax returns up to 2024, including firms in the construction, tourism and retail sectors.
The list, released, includes South Palm Maldives, Pois Distributors, Megachip Electronics and AH Brothers, among others. MIRA stated that the companies have outstanding tax return submissions for previous years up to 2024. The authority has not disclosed how many of these companies have submitted returns for 2025 as of March.
Prior to publishing the list, MIRA said it had notified all non-compliant companies of potential legal action and issued multiple reminders through phone calls and SMS.
The authority added that it will proceed with enforcement measures to recover unpaid taxes and any outstanding amounts owed to the state.
