The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has opened a bidding process to appoint a qualified party to develop the concept design for its new office building.
According to a gazette issued by the central bank, the bid is open only to registered bidders who declared their interest before the registration deadline. Eligible bidders include partnerships, limited liability companies, joint ventures, government-owned entities, as well as entities formed through mergers or acquisitions. MMA said bidders intending to submit proposals as joint ventures must declare this during the registration period, and any awarded joint venture must be registered with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade before signing a contract with the authority.
Interested parties must register by submitting required details—including the entity name, contact person, designation, email address and website—to procurement@mma.gov.mv by 11 am on 14 January. MMA said the request for proposals (RFP) and related bidding documents will be issued to registered bidders after the registration deadline.
MMA has set a clarification period for registered bidders, allowing queries on the bidding documents to be submitted by email before 11 am on 20 January. The authority said it will issue responses to all clarifications by 11 am on 22 January.
The bid submission process will proceed in stages. Stage 1 (compliance evaluation) and Stage 2 (technical evaluation) submissions must be emailed to procurement@mma.gov.mv by 11 am on 1 February. MMA said bids received after the deadline will be rejected. Only bidders who advance will be informed of deadlines for Stage 3, which involves submission and presentation of the concept idea, and Stage 4, which covers the financial proposal. MMA added that an MS Teams meeting will be held to facilitate the bid submission process.
The authority said the multi-stage evaluation is intended to ensure that the selected concept design meets both technical and financial requirements for the development of the new MMA office building.
