MNDF to Conduct Nationwide Military Exercises Until August

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has announced that it will conduct armed military training exercises across several islands in the Maldives from 29 June to 1 August 2026.
In a gazetted notice issued today, the MNDF said the exercises will take place in designated areas, with troops operating weapons and using blanks and pyrotechnics in controlled conditions that will not cause harm to people or property.
The exercises will be held across 13 locations, including Baresdhoo, Fonadhoo, Kadhdhoo, Maandhoo, Gan (Mukurimagu, Mathimaradhoo and Thundi), Mundoo, Maabaidhoo, Bokeffushi, Kalhaidhoo, Uvadhevifushi, Mahaakanfushi, Gasfinolhu and Bodufinolhu.
The MNDF said the training forms part of its scheduled operational preparedness activities and issued the notice for public awareness.
