During the graduation ceremony of the second Inspector Course conducted by the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement, Commissioner Hameed emphasized the need for passionate officers within the Maldives Police Service (MPS).

Addressing the attendees at the ceremony, Commissioner Hameed underscored the importance of having officers who possess the ability and skills to proactively address threats and risks to public safety. He stressed that the ever-changing landscape of crime in the Maldives requires creative and adaptive solutions.

The Inspector Course, which took place from May 17 to July 19, focused on various crucial modules. Topics covered during the course included an in-depth understanding of the Police Service Act and other pertinent laws, as well as the development of leadership and management skills. Additionally, participants engaged in security and operational studies, along with policing and investigation studies.

The primary aim of the inspector course was to equip officers with the necessary knowledge and competencies for administrative duties, paving the way for potential promotions within the MPS. A total of 41 officers successfully completed the course, ready to take on increased responsibilities within the police service.

Commissioner Hameed’s call for innovative crime prevention measures highlights the MPS’s commitment to staying ahead of the curve in tackling emerging criminal activities. The promotion of creative problem-solving and the cultivation of dedicated officers will be essential in ensuring the safety and security of the Maldives’ citizens and communities in the face of evolving challenges.
