Month-Long Mental Health Campaign Launched Across the Maldives by ICP

The Institute for Counselling & Psychotherapy (ICP) has announced a month-long mental health awareness campaign across the Maldives in recognition of World Mental Health Day on 10 October 2026.
According to a press release issued by SIMDI Group today, the initiative features a series of community activities, workshops, creative events, and free consultations designed to promote emotional well-being and reduce mental health stigma.
As part of the initiative, ICP is conducting a dedicated social media awareness campaign from 5 October to 18 October 2026. The campaign focuses on publishing educational content to foster open discussions about emotional well-being and lower the social stigma surrounding mental healthcare.
ICP is additionally hosting a poetry event on 5 October 2026, gathering invited guest speakers and poets. The session aims to highlight creative expression as a medium for communicating complex emotions and promoting open dialogue around mental health.
Plans for a community outreach visit by the ICP team to AA are also highlighted iby SIMDI Group. Rasdhoo on 8 October 2026. During the visit, representatives intend to deliver three dedicated mental health sessions. In addition, ICP will offer free consultations to the island community at AA. Atoll Hospital to support access to professional care.
To further mark World Mental Health Day on 10 October, ICP announced that it will provide free consultations to the public at its clinic in Malé to make professional psychological support more accessible.
Tailored workshops will be held, aimed at key community sectors throughout this month. On 15 October 2026, ICP will collaborate with the Maldives Police Service to lead a mental health session for law enforcement personnel, conducted by a professional facilitator and two assistants.
Later in the month, on 24 October 2026, ICP plans to deliver a mental health session for teaching staff at Aminiyya School to foster supportive environments for both teachers and students.
