MPL Appoints Risk Champions, Holds Special Awareness Session

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has appointed a group of risk champions and held a special awareness session to strengthen risk management and workplace safety across the organisation.

Assistant Auditor General Ibrahim Fazeel conducted the session earlier today. Following the programme, MPL presented the newly appointed risk champions with badges and certificates.

Speaking at the event, the company’s Chief Risk Officer said MPL operates in one of the country’s highest-risk work environments. He noted that limited space and the demanding conditions at the commercial harbour require heightened attention to safety measures and protective protocols.

He added that the risk champions will play a key role in the company’s progress and long-term success. Rather than serving solely as overseers of risk frameworks and documentation, he said the champions are expected to act as “risk influencers” who promote a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.
