President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended the jurisdictions of North Ari Atoll Thoddoo and Rasdhoo to include areas of lagoon in Rasdhoo Atoll.
President Muizzu made these changes through two resolutions to amend the registry of inhabited islands under powers granted to the President in Chapter 8 of the constitution and the Decentralisation Act of 2010.
The resolutions posted on the government gazette today included maps that outline two adjacent areas of lagoon on the north side of Rasdhoo Atoll awarded to these too islands.
Rasdhoo Atoll is a geographic atoll located north of North Ari Atoll, home to the inhabited island of Rasdhoo and two resorts. Thoddoo is a smaller island located in its own atoll north of Rasdhoo Atoll. Both Rasdhoo and Thoddoo are administratively included in the North Ari Atoll.
