Muizzu Expresses Confidence in 22-Member Cabinet

President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu conveyed his optimism and trust in the upcoming cabinet, which is set to comprise 22 ministers.
He said this during an interview with PSM media.
The President-elect outlined his vision for a results-oriented administration that prioritises efficiency and accountability.
On the occasion of Republic Day, Muizzu emphasised his commitment to selecting ministers capable of translating the government’s manifesto into tangible outcomes.
According to Muizzu, the criteria for inclusion in the cabinet include a steadfast dedication to respecting presidential decisions and the ability to make informed choices without external consultations.
Reflecting on his campaign promises, Muizzu reiterated the importance of assembling an inclusive and proficient team.
He underscored the necessity of a cabinet that possesses the education and capabilities required to ensure stability in the country and deliver on the government’s commitments.
The President-elect pledged to hold his cabinet members accountable for their performance and expressed openness to public opinions and criticisms. He justified the decision to expand ministries, asserting that it would enhance efficiency without significantly increasing operational costs.
With confidence in the capabilities of his cabinet, Muizzu assured the public of a government committed to transparency and free from corruption. The circulated list of 22 ministries includes individuals with prior ministerial experience and leading figures from the PPM PNC leadership.
