NDA Opens Applications For CEO Post With Salary Of MVR 52,030

The National Drug Agency (NDA) has opened applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer, offering a total monthly remuneration of MVR 52,030.

The post is currently held by Mohamed Rashid, who was appointed on an interim basis in July 2024.

According to a vacancy announcement published in the Government Gazette on Monday, the successful candidate will receive a basic salary of MVR 23,935 and an executive allowance of MVR 28,095.

The NDA is responsible for drug rehabilitation, prevention programmes and coordinating the national response to drug-related issues.

The recruitment process follows amendments to the NDA Board regulations on 2 May, which extended the CEO’s term from three years to five years and introduced stricter eligibility requirements for the role.

Applicants are required to hold qualifications in business administration, public administration or human resource management. Candidates with a master’s degree must have at least five years of relevant experience, while those holding a Level 8 or honours degree must have a minimum of seven years of experience. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree must have at least 10 years of relevant work experience.

In addition, candidates with a master’s degree must demonstrate at least two years of senior management experience. Those with lower academic qualifications are required to have additional professional experience to meet the competency requirements of the post.

Applications must be submitted by 2:00 pm on 8 July via email to recruitment@nda.gov.mv.

The NDA stated that if a public holiday is declared before the application deadline, the submission period will be extended by the same number of days. Applicants are required to submit all documents as a single PDF file labelled with their name and use the same name in the email subject line.
