Nearly 41% Turnout Recorded in North Hithadhoo By-Election by 2pm
Voter turnout in the North Hithadhoo parliamentary by-election reached 40.74 per cent by 2:00pm, today according to updated figures based on the Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) data.
A total of 1,679 out of 4,121 eligible voters had cast their ballots by mid-afternoon, while 2,442 voters are had yet to vote.
Polling, which opened at 8:00am, is scheduled to continue until 4:00pm.
Two candidates are contesting the seat, which became vacant following a Supreme Court ruling involving former MP Mohamed Sinan.
