Nominations Open for National Boating Awards Maldives 2026

The National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM) has opened nominations for the National Boating Awards Maldives 2026, inviting the public and industry stakeholders to recognise individuals, businesses and organisations that have made significant contributions to the country’s boating and marine sector.

In a statement, NBAM said the awards aim to recognise excellence, innovation, leadership and dedication across the industry while promoting professionalism, safety, sustainability and service excellence.

The association called on members of the boating community, marine industry professionals, businesses, partners and the general public to submit nominations across a range of award categories.

Nominations can be submitted through the official National Boating Awards Maldives website until 15 August. Following the close of nominations, eligible entries will be assessed by an independent panel of judges, with winners to be announced at the National Boating Awards Maldives 2026 ceremony.

This year’s awards span dozens of categories, recognizing achievements across the boating, marine tourism, and maritime services sectors. Some of the categories in the industry awards section, which has a total of 29 categories, include: 

  • Best Liveaboard or Yacht Builder
  • Best Built Liveaboard or Yacht
  • Best Production Fibre Vessel across multiple size classes, 
  • Boat Design of the Year
  • Liveaboard or Yacht Operator of the Year amongst 29 other categories

Individual awards will also be given amongst a total of 10 categories, recognizing professionals working across the industry. Some in this section includes: 

  • Dive Guide of the Year
  • Surf Guide of the Year
  • Captain of the Year
  • Crew Member of the Year
  • Cruise Manager of the Year
  • Engineer of the Year 

NBAM will also present several special honours selected by its Executive Board, including the Special Recognition for the Contribution of the Boating Industry, which acknowledges individuals or organisations that have made outstanding contributions to the development of the Maldivian boating sector. 

NBAM said the awards are intended to celebrate outstanding achievements while recognising those who continue to shape the future of the Maldivian boating industry. It encouraged both industry participants and members of the public to nominate deserving candidates before the nomination deadline.
