Nominations Open for President’s Award for Special Achievement 2026

The Special Awards Committee has opened nominations for this year’s President’s Award for Special Achievement and published the award guidelines and eligibility criteria in the Government Gazette.
Applications must be submitted through the President’s Office “Form Submission” portal by 2:00 p.m. on 31 August 2026.
This year’s award will be presented in four categories recognising outstanding achievements in education, international representation, research and innovation, and youth contributions to national development.
The first category recognises individuals who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement by obtaining a Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) Level 10 qualification or graduating with the highest academic honour from an institution offering an MQA Level 7, 8 or 9 programme.
The second category honours individuals who have achieved distinction while representing the Maldives at international competitions and exhibitions.
The third category recognises outstanding innovation and academic research that addresses issues of national importance.
The fourth category is dedicated to talented young people aged between 18 and 35 who have demonstrated exceptional innovation and made significant contributions to national development.
The committee advised applicants to ensure all required supporting documents are completed, attested and submitted in accordance with the application requirements. Applicants have also been encouraged to review the published guidelines before submitting their applications.
Recipients of the President’s Award for Special Achievement will be honoured during the official Republic Day ceremony.
