NSPA Disburses MVR 26,040 Under Food Assistance Programme in February

The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) provided MVR 26,040 in financial assistance under its Food Assistance Programme in February, according to the agency’s latest figures.
A total of 706 individuals received assistance during the month, while six new beneficiaries were registered to the programme.
Implemented under the Social Protection Act, 2014, the Food Assistance Programme is a targeted conditional cash transfer initiative aiming to support vulnerable individuals in purchasing essential food items, specifically rice, flour, and sugar.

Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive a monthly allowance of MVR 40 per person, capped at a maximum of MVR 240 per household.
To apply, individuals must complete the Food Assistance Programme Application Form, available on the NSPA website, and submit it along with the required documents to the agency.
