NSPA Disburses MVR 54 Million in Disability Assistance in February

The National Social Protection Agency disbursed more than MVR 54 million in financial assistance to people with disabilities in February 2026, according to its latest monthly statistics.
The agency reported that 15,280 individuals are currently listed on the national disability register, including 62 new registrations recorded during the month.
A total of 14,993 individuals received disability allowance in February, reflecting a slight increase from 14,975 recipients in January.
Financial disbursements for disability-related assistance reached MVR 54,842,000 in February, compared to MVR 54,639,000 in the previous month.
In addition, the agency provided MVR 187,500 in support to children with disabilities and their caregivers. The number of parents receiving this assistance stood at 101, with one new parent registered during the month, while 137 children benefited from the programme.
The NSPA also issued MVR 26,040 in food assistance during February.
