Nude Man Arrested at Hulhumalé Skate Park Released to Family

Maldives Police Service has confirmed that a man detained on Monday for walking around naked at Hulhumalé Skate Park has been released into the care of his family.

Footage of the incident, which circulated online, showed the man wearing only sunglasses and sandals, casually smoking a cigarette. His t-shirt was draped over the railing of the park’s ramp, with a backpack and helmet placed on the ground nearby.

The individual, identified as a Maldivian national, was taken into custody by police on Monday. When questioned by Sun on Tuesday, police confirmed that the man had been briefly held before being handed over to his family.

Authorities did not provide details on whether any formal action was taken or if the man was suffering from a mental health condition. The case remains under investigation.
