Ooredoo Fintech and Paypal Announce Plans to Collaborate in Maldives

Ooredoo Fintech and PayPal have announced their intent to collaborate in the Maldives, with both companies currently working to finalise the details of the partnership.

The planned partnership aims to benefit both consumers and businesses across the country. Expected to go live in 2026, the collaboration will enable consumers in the Maldives to shop with PayPal merchants worldwide and transfer funds seamlessly between their PayPal and m-Faisaa accounts.

Maldivian businesses will also gain the ability to reach international customers, expanding their market access and marking a significant step forward in the Maldives’ efforts to build a fully digital economy.

Khalid Al Hamadi, CEO and Managing Director of Ooredoo Fintech Maldives, noted that enabling cross-border transactions is critical for both Maldivian citizens and businesses as the country accelerates towards digital transformation.

“With Ooredoo Fintech and PayPal announcing their intent to collaborate towards linking PayPal wallets to local m-Faisaa wallets, this is an exciting time for individuals and businesses in the Maldives,” he said.
