Ooredoo Fun Run 2023 Wraps Up with Over 6000 Participants

Ooredoo Maldives has announced the successful conclusion of Ooredoo Fun Run 2023, solidifying its status as the biggest and happiest 5K run in the Maldives.
With an overwhelming response, this year’s event witnessed a remarkable surge in participation, boasting a staggering 6000 enthusiastic runners. The picturesque journey unfolded on 23rd December 2023, encompassing the vibrant streets of Hulhumale Phase 1 and Phase 2. Ooredoo Fun Run 2023 celebrated health, community, and joy as runners of all ages joined in the excitement.
Distinguished guests, including the Vice President of the Maldives, His Excellency Uz, graced the inauguration. Hussain Mohamed Latheef, Council President from Laamu Atoll; Ismail Ali, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Maldives; Khalid Al-Hamadi, Board Director of Ooredoo Maldives, Uza. Dheena Hussain and Chief Commercial Officer of Ooredoo Maldives, Hussain Niyaz. A momentous selfie marked the beginning of this extraordinary event, capturing the essence of unity and shared joy.
In a momentous ceremony during the inauguration of Ooredoo Fun Run 2023, His Excellency Uz. Hussain Mohamed Latheef, the Vice President of the Maldives, unveiled Laamu Atoll as the upcoming destination for the regional edition of Ooredoo Fun Run 2024. As part of the ceremony, a symbolic memento representing the vibrant spirit of Ooredoo Fun Run was presented by His Excellency Uz. Hussain Mohamed Latheef and Khalid Al-Hamadi, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Maldives, to the esteemed Council President of Laamu Atoll, Ismail Ali.
Reflecting on the success of Ooredoo Fun Run 2023, Khalid Al-Hamadi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Maldives, expressed his delight, stating, “Ooredoo Fun Run was not just a run; it was a celebration of the amazing community spirit of the Maldivian people. We are thrilled to see the overwhelming enthusiasm and energy from the participants. The smiles and the sheer joy on the faces of everyone made this event truly special.”
As runners completed each kilometre, they were greeted by vibrant, fun stations bursting with colours and thrilling obstacles, concluding with a fun foam party. Furthermore, at the end of the run, participants enjoyed the thrill of the Bull Bash and Gladiator Duel set up by Adventure Up. Social media platforms were flooded with captivating snapshots of participants capturing their run moments, proudly displaying their Fun Run medals, and revelling in the foam-filled festivities.
Ooredoo Maldives is already gearing up for the Ooredoo Fun Run in 2024, with plans to host the regional Ooredoo Fun Run 2024 in Laamu and Hulhumale. The commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle through the joy of running remains at the core of Ooredoo’s community engagement initiatives.
