Parliament Speaker Leaves for Cambodia to Attend Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference

Speaker of Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla has departed for Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to attend the second Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference, scheduled to take place from 26 to 28 August.

Abdul Raheem is scheduled to deliver a speech on “Solidarity for Peace and Prosperity: Strengthening International Law and Peaceful Conflict Resolution” during the conference.

He is accompanied by Hulhudhoo MP Mohamed Shahid, Machangolhi South MP Musthafa Hussain, Faresmaathodaa MP Ashraf Rasheed, Parliamentary Secretariat Chief of Bureau Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik, and Foreign Relations Department Assistant Director-General Zuyyina Badhuree.

The conference brings together speakers and leaders of legislative bodies to discuss issues including peace, international law, peaceful conflict resolution and sustainable development.
