PCB Appoints Abdulla Faiz as MIFCO’s New Chairperson

The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) has announced the appointment of Abdulla Faiz as the new Chairperson and board member of the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO).
As per reports, Faiz brings more than three decades of executive experience spanning the commercial and tourism sectors to the state-owned enterprise. Official records highlight his prior tenure in public sector governance, where he served as Chairman of both the State Trading Organisation (STO) and the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC).
According to his executive profile, Faiz has held several high-level leadership positions in the private sector. These include roles as Managing Director at ADK Trade and Shipping, Director of Marketing and Promotions at Villa Hotels, and a board director for Villa Shipping and Trading Company. Industry sources also note his former post as Secretary General of the Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), where he oversaw commercial operations across logistics, hospitality, trade, and investment.
Trade records further reveal that Faiz played a key role in founding several major domestic business bodies, including the MNCCI, the Maldives Traders Association, the Maldives Association of Construction Industries (MACI), and the Restaurant Association of Maldives. On a regional level, official documentation confirms he has held a life membership with the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2001, having previously served as its Vice-President.
