People’s National Congress Sees Surge in Membership

The People’s National Congress (PNC) has seen an increase in membership, with 950 new applicants. Among them, 150 individuals from Th. Kinbidhoo and 200 members from Gdh. Thinadhoo has joined the PNC.
Lh. Atoll has observed a significant uptick, with over 600 people registering for PNC membership. This includes members from the People’s Party of Maldives (PPM).

Under the leadership of President Mohamed Muizzu, who also serves as the president of the PNC, the party aims to reach a membership of 10,000. President Muizzu has requested adding new members without removing individuals from the PPM.
However, some general members of the PPM have expressed dissatisfaction, citing concerns about including PPM members in the PNC potentially violating established directives. The party is currently addressing these concerns within its internal processes.
