The ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) party has postponed its upcoming internal elections, initially scheduled for 19 October 2024.
In a statement released yesterday, the PNC confirmed the elections will now take place on 9 November 2024, citing requests from candidates seeking additional time as the primary reason for the delay.
As a result of the postponement, the party has extended the deadline for candidates to submit their applications. Those interested in contesting positions within the party now have until 24 October to apply.

Additionally, only individuals who have signed up as PNC members by 6:00 pm on 24 October will be eligible to vote in the internal elections.
The PNC elections will decide key positions, including constituency presidents and vice presidents, youth movement island presidents, women’s movement island presidents, steering committee members and elected roles.
