PNC Wins Maarandhoo By-Election

In the by-election for the Maarandhoo Council, Abdul Hameed Abdul Sattar, representing the People’s National Congress (PNC), secured the victory. 

The election, held yesterday, saw Abdul Hameed triumph over his opponent from the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).

The by-election, which took place between 0800hrs and 1600hrs, was called following the passing of Ahmed Rameez, the former vice-president of the Maarandhoo Council, who died on 13 July last year.
