Police Announce Parking Restrictions and Traffic Diversions for Independence Day Ceremony
The Maldives Police Service announced temporary parking restrictions and traffic diversions in Malé ahead of the official ceremony marking the 61st Independence Day of the Maldives in a post on X.

According to the police, all vehicles parked in the red-highlighted area shown on the official traffic map must be removed before 14:00 on 25 July 2026 to facilitate preparations for the ceremony.
The Maldives Police Service stated that traffic flow around the Social Centre will be altered from 06:00 on 26 July 2026 until the conclusion of the ceremony, as indicated on the official map.
The police also announced that traffic flow around Republic Square (Jumhooree Maidhaan) will change from 03:45 on 26 July 2026 until the end of the ceremony, with the revised routes shown on a separate traffic map.

Stated by the police, the temporary measures are intended to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the Independence Day celebrations.
