Police Apprehend Individual for Sharing Cross-Dressing Videos

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has detained Mohamed Nabeel, known as Yaya, a Maldivian crossdresser on the social media platform TikTok. 

A total of 15 days have been set for his detainment, as revealed by the Police.

This isn’t Nabeel’s first brush with the law, having faced similar allegations previously.

Authorities have disclosed that a 39-year-old man was taken into custody for contravening societal norms by sharing videos on social media while dressed in revealing female clothing.

Under a court directive, the man has been detained, with investigations ongoing.

Nabeel’s legal troubles extend back to a prior conviction where he received a sentence of one year and one month for TikTok posts containing nudity. He was found guilty of possessing and producing pornographic material despite his denial of the charges, with the court ruling based on state-presented evidence.

This arrest swiftly follows his release, this time concerning cross-dressing.
