Police Issue Public Notice Summoning Man for Terrorism Investigation
The Maldives Police Service has issued a public notice ordering a 27-year-old man to appear for questioning as part of an ongoing terrorism and violent extremism investigation.
According to the police, the Terrorism and Violent Extremism Investigations Department is investigating a case that requires the presence of Shihan Ahmed, 27, of Neuzil, Ga. Kanduhulhudhoo. The Maldives Police Service stated that officers were unable to deliver a summons as his whereabouts are unknown.
The notice was issued under Article 27 of the Regulation on Police Procedures for Investigating Criminal Matters, which allows police to issue a public summons when a person cannot be located.
Police have ordered Shihan Ahmed, holder of ID card number A340125, to appear for questioning in connection with the investigation.
As stated by the police, he is required to report to the Sergeant Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building on 9 August 2026 at 09:00 hrs.
