President Extends National Day Greetings to Saudi Arabia

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed official felicitations to the leadership of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the kingdom’s National Day, reaffirming the strong bilateral relations between the two nations and expressing a desire to expand economic cooperation.

The felicitations were sent via separate letters addressed to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Wednesday.

According to the press release from the President’s Office, in the letters, President Muizzu described Saudi Arabia as a “cherished and trusted partner” of the Maldives.

The Maldivian leader highlighted the historic bond between Male’ and Riyadh, emphasizing that the relationship rests on shared Islamic values, mutual respect, and a joint commitment to the solidarity of the global Muslim community (Ummah).

Beyond diplomatic felicitations, President Muizzu signaled an interest in broadening economic collaboration, says the President’s Office. He specifically identified investments in transformative development initiatives as a key area for potential growth, expressing confidence that deeper bilateral cooperation would deliver lasting advantages to both populations.

President Muizzu concluded his messages with well wishes for the health and success of the Saudi royal leadership, as well as continued peace and progress for the Saudi public.
