President Calls for Greater Road and Building Safety Awareness Following Child Deaths

President Mohamed Muizzu has called for greater public awareness and safety measures following the deaths of two young children in separate accidents.
In a post on social media, President Muizzu said the death of a child injured in a road accident two days ago, followed by the death of a toddler who fell from a building, had caused widespread grief.

He extended condolences to the families of both children and prayed for their eternal peace in Paradise.

The President stressed that preventing such accidents requires collective efforts to improve safety on roads and in high-rise buildings.
He particularly called for greater attention to safety measures around windows, balconies and railings in tall buildings.
Muizzu also urged families and building managers to take proactive measures to protect young children, people with mental health conditions and persons with disabilities.
He called on the government, corporations, civil society organisations and individuals to work together to strengthen safety measures and conduct organised public awareness programmes.
