In response to unverified claims about the digital infrastructure of the RTL app, MTCC emphasised its commitment to incorporating feedback and insights from various stakeholders since the service’s inception.
The company launched an investigation upon receiving a report in early July regarding a potential security vulnerability in the app. Necessary precautions were taken and the issue was swiftly resolved.
MTCC underlined its ongoing efforts to enhance system security, assuring customers that the company does not retain any information in its systems for illicit gain through the use of customers’ bank card details.
The company’s statement affirmed, “we do not store the banking information of our customers, except for what is necessary to facilitate secure payments. Consequently, bank cards can be used within the RTL system, in accordance with the partnering bank’s security standards.”
Moreover, MTCC emphasised that the digital tools employed for card transactions within the RTL system adhere to internationally recognized standards set by the payment card industry.
Additionally, the company utilizes the secure payment gateway of the Bank of Maldives to process financial transactions. As a result, all customer banking information is shared on the bank’s platform.
