S7 Airlines to Connect Novosibirsk directly to the Maldives from late October

One of Russia’s largest domestic carriers, S7 Airlines, has announced that it will launch direct flights between Novosibirsk and Male’, from 30 October onwards. The route marks the first scheduled service connecting the Siberian city directly to the Maldivian capital without requiring transit through Moscow’s aviation hub.
As per the news article published by Aviators Maldives, the carrier will operate the twice-weekly service on Mondays and Fridays using Airbus A320 family aircraft. Flights will depart Novosibirsk’s Tolmachevo International Airport (OVB) at 04:25, reaching Velana International Airport (MLE) at 13:00 local time. The return flight will depart Malé at 14:10 and land in Novosibirsk at 02:30 the following day. The route incorporates a brief technical stop for refueling in Jaipur, India.

The route addition coincides with wider expansion plans across the Maldivian aviation sector. Following a briefing by the Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen on 10 September 2026, seven airlines plan to launch seasonal operations to the Maldives during the fourth quarter of the year.
