Saudi Royal Concludes Official Visit to Maldives After Independence Day Celebrations

Saudi Arabia’s Prince Dr Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has concluded his official visit to the Maldives after attending the country’s 61st Independence Day celebrations as Guest of Honour.

The Saudi royal, who serves as Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Minister of State and Cabinet Member of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, at the invitation of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

During the visit, Prince Mansour paid a courtesy call on President Muizzu at the President’s Office. The two discussed ways to further strengthen the longstanding bilateral ties and close relations between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.

President Muizzu also hosted a luncheon in honour of the visiting dignitary, reaffirming the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Prince Mansour later attended the official Independence Day celebrations at Republic Square as the Guest of Honour.

He departed the Maldives on Monday and was seen off at Velana International Airport by Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam and Principal Secretary to the President on Foreign Relations Mohamed Naseer.
