Single Parent Allowance Registry Removes 39 Parents and 80 Children

Thirty-nine parents and 80 children have been removed from the registry for state-provided social protection assistance programs for single mothers and fathers.
The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has published the latest details regarding individuals removed from its assistance rosters for various reasons.

According to figures released by NSPA, 39 registered parents and 80 children were removed from the single-parent financial assistance program. Additionally, one guardian and two children were removed from the financial support scheme for children raised without parental care and their caregivers.
The agency further disclosed that 14 women and 26 men registered under the disability financial assistance and support scheme were removed from the registry for various reasons.
Furthermore, two males receiving financial aid under the Thalassemia allowance program were also removed.
NSPA makes these periodic adjustments after reviewing its registries to account for changes in eligibility criteria and shifts in living conditions.
According to data disclosed earlier this month, NSPA spent MVR 58.3 million on financial assistance for persons with disabilities in August.
NSPA said MVR 58,3 million was provided to 15,498 beneficiaries during the month. The agency has 15,665 registered beneficiaries, with 169 people newly registered in August.
