Staffer Suspended for Theft from Special Needs Patient at Guraidhoo

An employee of the Home for Special Needs at Guraidhoo, which operates under the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services, has been suspended from work following allegations of stealing money from a patient’s account. 

The Ministry told the media today that they have taken immediate action and launched an investigation into the matter to ascertain the facts.

The Ministry emphasized its commitment to ensuring the well-being and safety of all patients under its care and is treating this allegation with the utmost seriousness.

When questioned about the amount of money stolen from the patient, the Gender Ministry stated that they are unable to disclose this information. An official from the Gender Ministry informed MV+ that due to the ongoing investigation, they cannot provide any additional details on the matter.
