Breaking down the figures, it was revealed that out of the total children under state care, 70 are girls and 94 are boys. Additionally, in the month of October, one girl was fostered, and three girls under State care were reintergrated into their families. Meanwhile, last October, three girls and one boy were newly taken to State care.
It was also revealed that the child helpline received a total of 1,730 calls during the month of October 2023.
Breaking down the numbers, the majority of calls through CFPS hotline 1412 were genuine inquiries seeking assistance or reporting concerns related to child welfare.
The types of calls varied, with the following distribution:
- Prank calls: 75 cases
- Silent calls: 167 cases
- Reported cases: 48 cases
- Seeking information: 184 cases
- Follow-up on reported cases: 609 cases
- Other: 647 cases
These statistics provide insight into the diverse nature of calls received, highlighting the challenges faced by the Child Helpline in managing various situations, including prank calls and silent calls.
