The Managing Director of the State Electric Company Limited (STELCO), Hussain Fahmy, has pledged to resolve the persistent electricity issues plaguing Kulhudhuffushi, promising full assistance until the matter is rectified.

Fahmy confirmed that an advance team dispatched to assess and rectify the power situation in the island has now commenced operations. A dedicated team of eight experienced STELCO personnel is diligently working to restore normalcy in Kulhudhuffushi.

Addressing the public’s grievances arising from the previous administration’s neglect, Fahmy affirmed the commitment of STELCO to deliver comprehensive services to the residents of Kulhudhuffushi. He assured continued support from the company until the restoration of reliable electricity provision.

Meanwhile, amidst the ongoing power outages, Fenaka Corporation has resorted to scheduled power cuts to manage the situation. Fenaka’s decision to disconnect power intermittently aims to prevent overloading of the power grid.

According to Fenaka Corporation, a predetermined schedule was implemented on Tuesday, with electricity being cut off for one-hour intervals in various areas of Kulhudhuffushi. This schedule was adhered to on Tuesday and continued on subsequent days.

The power cuts, initiated from 12:00 hrs onwards, are a temporary measure implemented to mitigate the strain on the electricity infrastructure until a permanent solution is reached.
