Thirteen Apprentices Graduate from Dhiraagu Apprenticeship Programme

Dhiraagu conducted the graduation ceremony for participants in the 2022 Dhiraagu Apprenticeship Programme, where 13 apprentices received certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the program.

The Chief Guest of the ceremony was the Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan.  Special guests of the ceremony included the Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology,  Dr. Mohamed Kinaanath, Dhiraagu board and senior management members as well as heads of  educational institutions.

Dhiraagu Apprenticeship Programme is the flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of  the company, and the first such corporate apprenticeship programme introduced in the Maldives, which  focuses on developing employability skills in Maldivian youth. The company has been conducting the  programme since 2009 where over a total of 268 youth have enrolled in the programme as of today. 

During the ceremony, the company also welcomed the 14th batch of Dhiraagu Apprenticeship  Programme where 21 apprentices enrolled in this year’s intake. Through a structured training  programme, soft skills development training, and with the opportunity to work in multiple core business  areas of Dhiraagu, the programme helps to provide the apprentices a key pathway towards a successful  career. Apprentices can work in Male’ as well as various Dhiraagu Regional Operations Centers across  the nation. 

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Guest Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan  congratulated the graduates of Dhiraagu Apprenticeship Programme. He also highlighted Dhiraagu as  a leading company in the national corporate social responsibility landscape, further stating that this  programme provides key avenues to increase the development and skillset of Maldivian youth.  

Dhiraagu CEO & MD, Ismail Rasheed also congratulated the graduates and conveyed his best wishes  to the new batch of apprentices. He further highlighted that empowering youth and providing them with  opportunities to grow and develop is a key focus of Dhiraagu’s CSR programme which contributes to  the company’s vision of creating a truly inclusive, sustainable ‘Digital Raajje.’  

Through the Dhiraagu Apprenticeship Programme, the company provides opportunities for youth to  develop their skills through intense on-site training under the guidance of a highly qualified management  team. Moreover, many past graduates of the programme have gone onto establish successful careers  in Dhiraagu and other companies across the Maldives, signifying the success of the programme.  

Dhiraagu continues to empower youth and provide avenues to enrich their lives and develop future  leaders.
