The electorate sought an end to street unrest, violence, and disorder, with a call for accountability for those responsible for government dissent.

Solih asserted that over the past five years, the nation has witnessed a transformation, with a disappearance of the fearful atmosphere. The streets now exude a sense of safety, and the state has successfully ensured that both business entities and the general public can continue their lives despite varying opinions.

Looking forward, President Solih expressed optimism, encouraging the people of the Maldives to witness and participate in future presidential elections and regime changes. He emphasised that the responsibility lies with successive governments and leaders to uphold the achievements and implement them for the betterment of the country.

“Governments will change, leaders will come and leave. The only thing that will remain is the citizens,” President Solih concluded.
