Three Injured in Midnight Bike Crash, Unlicensed Driver Involved

Three young adults have been hospitalised following a serious late-night collision involving two motorbikes along Sosun Magu in Malé. 

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) were alerted to the crash at approximately 1:12 am last night.

The casualties include two Maldivian men, aged 21 and 22, along with a 26-year-old Maldivian woman, all of whom sustained varying degrees of injury. 

The injured woman was rushed to ADK Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment, while the two men were taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Initial police inquiries revealed that the 21-year-old riding one of the motorbikes did not hold a valid driving licence.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
