Tourism Project Bids for Dhapparu in Haa Alif Filladhoo Nearing Deadline

Investors have until 31 August to submit bids for the development and operation of a major tourism project in the Dhapparu area of Haa Alif Filladhoo.

Following an announcement gazetted by the Filladhoo Council on 20 August, local and foreign developers are finalising their applications for the lease of 226.13 hectares of land, which includes the island’s lagoon.

The local authority offers a 50-year lease for the site. Under the contractual terms, the chosen developer must complete all site development work within a maximum period of 36 months from the date of signing the agreement.

Eligibility remains restricted to entities registered with the Ministry of Economic Development. This includes local companies and partnerships under Act 18/2014, sole proprietorships under Act 19/2014, and foreign investment entities under Act 11/2024.

Prospective bidders can collect further information and purchase the necessary tender documents from the Filladhoo Council Secretariat between 09:00 and 13:00 on working days ahead of the 31 August deadline.
