Two Fires in Malé Extinguished by MNDF This Morning, No Injuries Reported
Damage to property due to the fire incident at G. Mithuru House.
Two separate fire incidents which occurred this morning in Malé were extinguished by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), successfully diffusing all blazes with no injuries reported.
The first incident occurred at G. Mithuru House, where the MNDF received a report at approximately 8:39am. Firefighters from the Malé Fire Station responded immediately and brought the fire under control by around 9:08am.
According to the MNDF, the fire originated after an electrical socket caught fire in a room of a third-floor apartment. The blaze caused varying degrees of damage to the apartment, although no one was injured.
The second incident was reported at M. Shafa House at approximately 9:26am, where a fire broke out inside a warehouse. Firefighters extinguished the blaze by around 9:46am.
The warehouse sustained varying degrees of damage, but the MNDF said no injuries were reported.
The incidents come just days after firefighters responded to a residential fire at G. Funfalu House, where more than 100 residents were displaced after a blaze damaged several apartments.
