UK Deputy High Commissioner Pays Courtesy Call on Commissioner of Police

The Deputy High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to the Maldives, Mr. Toff Wahab, has paid a courtesy call today on the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Mohamed.

The Deputy High Commissioner was accompanied at the meeting by Mr. Matthew Potts, National Counter Terrorism Project and Preparedness Officer of the UK National Counter Terrorism Unit.

The meeting was held to renew the long-standing close relations between the Maldives and the United Kingdom and to discuss further strengthening the cooperation between the Maldives Police Service and relevant UK institutions.

Discussions at the meeting focused primarily on continuing the UK’s ongoing support for police training, technical assistance, capacity building, and institutional advancement. Additionally, both sides exchanged views on areas for further collaboration to enhance police professional skills and develop the Maldivian police service.

Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed highlighted the strong relationship between the Maldives Police Service and UK institutions and expressed his gratitude for the valuable assistance provided by the United Kingdom towards police capacity building and institutional development.
