Villa College Unveils Eight New Programmes in Major Expansion

Villa College has announced an expansion of its academic offerings with the introduction of eight new programmes, representing a diversified approach to education. 

Covering a wide spectrum of fields including culinary arts, psychology, and various branches of engineering, these additions underscore the institution’s commitment to providing comprehensive and relevant learning opportunities for its students.

The newly launched programmes include:

  • Certificate 3 in Culinary Arts
  • Master of Clinical Psychology
  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours)
  • Master of Engineering (Electronics)
  • Master of Engineering (Electrical)
  • Master of Engineering (Mechanical)
  • Master of Engineering (Mechatronics)
  • Master of Engineering (Computing)

The unveiling took place during a special ceremony held at Villa College, where Dr. Ali Haidar Ahmed, Minister of Housing, Land, and Urban Development, honoured the occasion as the distinguished Chief Guest. His presence highlights the significance of Villa College’s contributions to education and workforce development in the Maldives.

In his address, Villa College’s leadership proudly proclaimed its pioneering status as the first institution to introduce Master’s programmes in engineering in the Maldives, building upon its earlier achievement of being the inaugural provider of Bachelor’s level programmes in engineering in 2020. This forward-thinking initiative underscores the college’s dedication to fostering academic excellence and meeting the evolving demands of industries.
